Coconut Records

The best CD I've heard in a long, long time:

Nighttiming

Coconut Records is a project by Jason Schwartzman of Rushmore and The Darjeeling Limited fame. This darling of Wes Anderson shocked the hell out of me with his unexpected, truly unique creation. Think a tad Apples In Stereo (the good parts, not the annoying parts) plus another super badass band I can't put my finger on right now. Just trust me when I say that listening to this album will make you want to run through a field of pollinating dandelions in ruffle-butt panties and a gloriously threadbare cotton trapeze top.

PS - It is NOTHING LIKE YOU WOULD EXPECT. There is no sorrowfully off-tune crooning to be found, nor any bare acoustic strumming to be endured.

This album is robust.

It is hopeful.

And I love it.

Check out Coconut Records here.
